San Francisco Zoo
I don't know why, but we had not gone to the San Francisco Zoo for three years! And finally we went!
Meerkat and Prairie Dog
Its pose was exactly the same as TV or pictures that I had seen! One of them always watched carefully on the rock. (Actually you can see them very closely, but they looked get used to people.)
Thanks to the watcher, others can relax like this, can't they?
Meerkat live in Africa, and Prairie dog live in North America, but they say the ecology of them is similar.
The water fountain was arranged very unique way near Meerkat and Prairie dog areas!
You cannot drink water without somebody's help! You have to ask somebody to push the button that is set away from you.
At the insect area.
An exhibition of Ants. You can see their life on the ground in the glass case, and their life under the ground in the flat glass case.
There is a queen ant!! Can you see her?? She is bigger than others(worker ants). I think mostly people don't know this queen ant.
Insects that simulating plant.
Cockroaches! Cockroaches in tropical area are BIG!!
Mandrill. Looks sad....
Herbivore area.
I could see only a giraffe and a zebra.
They just had the dietary time, so we could see the giraffes very closely! ^^
Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to see all, so we will go there again someday.
